Day 1: Auckland

Explore: Auckland

New Zealand's self-proclaimed "City of Sails" is the country's largest metro area. Resting between the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea, this urban paradise has something for everyone. Surrounded by native bush, rainforests, and an abundance of beaches, Auckland is a playground for both the city savvy and those with an eye for adventure. Central museums and galleries can be explored on foot.

Fun: All Blacks Experience (No minimum age)

In learning more about the Haka and the New Zealand national teams, this interactive experience entertains and informs. Hear interesting stories about the team and famous players, see All Blacks memorabilia, and even watch a powerful haka. Ideal for adults and kids alike

Day 2: Auckland to Rotorua

Travel to Hobbiton Movie set before arriving in Rotorua

World Famous: Hobbiton Movie Set Tour (No minimum age )

In the heart of New Zealand, you can step into the lush pastures of the Shire with a guided tour of Hobbiton, as featured in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit Trilogies. Hobbiton is located just outside of Matamata - in the heart of the lush Waikato farming region. Here you can visit such iconic Hobbit locations as Hobbit Holes, the Green Dragon Inn, the Mill, and the Party Tree, with a guide sharing behind-the-scenes tales and insight into the making of the films.

Day 3: Rotorua

Explore: Rotorua

Peppered with natural hot springs, boiling mud pools, and steaming geysers, Rotorua sits within one of the world’s most active volcanic regions. Geothermal landmarks aside, this city of sulphur has a rich indigenous history. Home to several prominent Māori tribes, a visit to one of the Māori Villages should be high on your agenda, as should an excursion to the Polynesian Spa for an invigorating soak in its natural mineral hot springs. Alternatively, head up the Rotorua Gondola for soaring lake views, and ride the luge at night for an extra thrill.

Fun: Zorb (minimum age 5)

ZORB is the largest ball rolling park in the world and is operated by the inventors of this iconic New Zealand experience. With four different tracks to choose from, ZORB is the perfect opportunity to let your inner child come out to play. Think of it like a giant water slide, 40 litres of (warm) water, slipping and sliding - there is no tumbling involved just full on belly laughs from top to bottom. In between rides enjoy the toasty hot tubs, free WIFI, delicious barista coffee and relaxed kiwiana vibe.

Day 4: Rotorua

Culture and Nature : Te Puia (No minimum age )

Te Puia is one of the country's premier indigenous experiences, with its spine-tingling ceremonial welcome, and stunning Kapa Haka cultural show which features traditional ancestral storytelling, song and dance. Enjoy food that has been cooked using the geothermal energy used for centuries, quite literally giving you a taste of Māori culture. You choose what you want to be cooked for your lunch before heading off on a special guided tour of Te Puia.

Fun: Skyline Rotorua Gondola and Luge (minimum age 2)

Jump onboard one of our eight-seater Gondola cabins and experience spectacular views of Lake Rotorua, the city and steaming geothermal vistas.

The luge is part go-cart, part toboggan is gravity-fuelled with full rider control over speed and direction using a unique braking and steering system. Pull back on the handlebars to slow down or stop, release slightly to accelerate and enjoy the ride. The Luge is great for any age (our oldest rider is 101) and small children (provided they are 85cm high and over 2 years of age or more) can ride with adults.

Day 5: Rotorua

Nature : Agrodome and National Kiwi Hatchery (No minimum age)

If there's one thing people associate with New Zealand, it’s sheep, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to interact with the gentle creatures at the Agrodome Sheep Show, Farm Tour or both. This educational and family-friendly experience lets you join in on farming activities as you meet the farmers and their sheep.

The National Kiwi Hatchery is the national leader in kiwi husbandry, egg incubation systems, hatching techniques and kiwi chick rearing. When you join one of our experiences, you'll get to see kiwi eggs being incubated, the hatching process and newly hatched kiwi chicks.

Fun: Polynesian Spa (No minimum age )

Polynesian Spa is New Zealand’s original and iconic geothermal bathing experience, with multiple opportunities to indulge in both acidic and alkaline natural mineral springs, and unique day spa therapies for the ultimate in rest and relaxation.

Sliding and splashing, the kids will love the supervised large swimming pool with hydro slide and the family can also enjoy two Rachel Spring alkaline mineral hot pools.

Day 6: Rotorua to Queenstown

Celebrated as New Zealand's adventure capital, Queenstown offers far more than a fast-paced action-packed holiday. Settled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu beneath a soaring panorama of the Remarkables Mountain Range, this alpine town is surrounded by a plethora of historic, gastronomic, and scenic wonders.

World Famous: TSS Earnslaw cruise to Walter Peak including gourmet BBQ dinner and a farm tour (No minimum age)

Enjoy a quintessential Kiwi experience – a delicious gourmet BBQ buffet meal and a farm demonstration in a stunning lakeside setting.

Take in the stunning views of Lake Wakatipu and its surroundings as you cruise across the lake to the historic Walter Peak high country farm aboard the TSS Earnslaw Steamship.

After dinner, watch the farm dogs in action with a sheep-herding demonstration and say hello to the other farm animals. .

Day 7: Queenstown

Day 8: Queenstown

Adventure: Ziptrek Eco Tours (minimum age 6)

Join us on a ziplining adventure and fly through the forest canopy high above Queenstown.

Take in the spectacular views of Lake Whakatipu and The Remarkable mountain range all year-round - in rain, shine and even snow!

Ziptrek Ecotours is suitable for ages 6+ and all confidence levels and abilities.

Day 9: Day tour to Wānaka for Queenstown

Explore and climb Twin Falls – one of Wānaka’s most spectacular waterfalls, located just a short drive from Wānaka town centre at the gateway to Mt Aspiring National Park. The opportunity to explore these falls up close is an exceptional and truly memorable experience. Explore hidden pools, picnic next to towering falls, and enjoy breathtaking mountain and lake views.

Fun: Puzzling World (No minimum age)

Puzzling World is an iconic, award-winning attraction that since 1973 has fascinated people of all ages. Boasting the world’s first ‘Mega Maze’, five Illusion Rooms and a huge Puzzle Café we invite you to enjoy Wanaka’s wonderful world of weirdness.

Fun: National Toy Museum (No minimum age)

Experience one of the largest private collections in the world, with over 600 vehicles, twenty aircraft, over 60,000 toys and thousands of miscellaneous items and a huge toy shop.

Day 10: Queenstown

Adventure: Rafting with Family Adventures (minimum age 3)

Family Adventures specialise in soft adventure trips, rafting the upper reaches of the famous Shotover River near Queenstown.  Our trip by bus and raft is a unique way to experience the wonderful backcountry we have close by in Queenstown, and is suitable for everyone from 3 years upwards.  Water confidence is NOT necessary. 

Fun: Segway on Q (minimum age 10)

Queenstown tours don’t get any better than this. Master the control of the Segway then embark on your adventure. You’ll get to check out lots of great sightseeing spots while enjoying the unique sensation of riding a Segway. Your guide will show you all the best places and share some interesting information along the way. It’s 2hrs of hands-on fun for all

Day 11: Queenstown

Nature: Fly Cruise Fly to Milford Sound (No minimum age)

Round-trip flights between Queenstown and Milford Sound take you deep into the spectacular Southern Alps. Following a scenic flight with views of snow-covered peaks, remote valleys, and waterfalls, touch down for a boat cruise on Milford Sound. Traveling by both air and water takes you to the dramatic places that you'd miss by sticking to the road.

Adventure: Bungy Jump (minimum age 10)

If you’ve ever wanted to discover what you’re truly made of, we’ve got plenty of ways for you to find out. Strap up at the World Home of Bungy, the Kawarau Bungy Centre, freestyle it up at the Ledge, or stare fear in the face, out at the Nevis Playground.

Day 12: Queenstown to Auckland

Take a domestic flight to Auckland for the end of your tour.
